Why Union Members Can Audition For Non-Union Work

Hey there!

A proud union member for nearly 30 years, it pains me to hear the misinformation from both union and non-union talent about how both camps operate.

One thing I keep hearing from people is that if you’re in the union, you can’t audition for non-union work.

You can.

I know what you’re thinking. You’re a union dude/dudette, and you’re thinking to yourself, “Not me. Not if I want to stay straight with SAG-AFTRA.”

Actually, you are being just a bit too hard on yourself.

So Where Will That Huge Facebook Fine End Up?

Hey there!

For most of my life, I’ve seen the government levy higher and higher fines on larger companies for what they determine is bad behavior.

And I’ve always wondered why the entity that actually benefits isn’t the members of the public that has supposedly been grievously harmed, but rather, the government itself gets all that cash.

When we look back on the huge million, hundreds of million, billion dollar fines, I have to wonder who benefits.

It ain’t us, the supposed aggrieved.

O. M. G. Look What Matt Zurbo Did!

Hey there!

A few days ago, I did an interview with another 365-day challenger, named Matt Zurbo, who’s writing a new children’s story every day for a year – and he’s doing it for his daughter, Cielo.

Cutie-pie.

So, as we were finishing the interview, he asked about my kids, what they were like when they were growing up, their interests etc. I just thought he was being a nice guy.

Turns out, he was doing research.
